Some weddings are more than just events; they are experiences filled with love, adventure, and the stunning beauty of nature. This was true for Stephanie and Nick, who chose the rugged cliffs and serene shores of Minnesota’s North Shore for their intimate wedding. From their first look at Tettegouche State Park to exchanging heartfelt vows at Palisade Head, followed by a lakeside ceremony and a cozy fireside celebration at Bluefin Bay, every moment of their day was intentional, deeply personal, and undeniably magical.

A First Look Along the Shore

The day began with excitement as Stephanie and Nick shared a private first look at Tettegouche State Park. Nestled among towering pines and overlooking the deep blue expanse of Lake Superior, this moment was entirely theirs—just the two of them, taking in the significance of what was to come. As the wind whispered through the trees, they embraced each other, savoring the tranquility before the rest of the day unfolded.

Vows on the Edge of the World

For their vows, the couple chose Palisade Head, one of the most iconic overlooks on the North Shore. With its dramatic cliffs cascading into the vast lake below, it was the perfect setting for words that carried the weight of eternity. The moment was raw and honest—there were no distractions, just the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and the steady rhythm of their hearts.

A Ceremony by the Water

Their official ceremony took place at Bluefin Bay, situated on the shores of Lake Superior. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they stood hand in hand as the lake shimmered behind them. The ceremony was simple yet profoundly meaningful, filled with laughter, tears, and an undeniable sense of something greater than themselves.

An Intimate Dinner and Fireside Celebration

As the sun set behind the horizon, the celebration continued with an intimate dinner at Bluefin Bay’s lakeside restaurant. The table was decorated with earthy florals and candlelight, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests shared stories, made toasts, and the room was filled with love.

To conclude their night, the couple gathered around a bonfire by the lake, sharing marshmallows for s’mores beneath the stars. With the fire crackling and the gentle sound of waves in the background, it was the perfect way to end a day that was both adventurous and emotional, as well as undeniably romantic.

Why a North Shore Wedding?

Minnesota’s North Shore is perfect for couples looking to make their wedding day feel like an experience rather than just a simple event. With its rugged landscapes, breathtaking lake views, and charming, secluded spots, it’s an ideal location for those who desire something unique and deeply personal.

If you dream of an intimate wedding that blends adventure with romance, Bluefin Bay and the North Shore might be the perfect place to say “I do.”

Meet Jessie

Photography didn’t start as a hobby for me. It’s just always been there. I was the kid flipping through photo albums, getting stuck on certain images longer than anyone else. Not because they were perfect but because they felt like something. Real. Honest. Like you could step into them and understand the moment without anyone explaining it.

That’s still what I’m chasing.

My work has never been about perfect poses or overly curated moments. It’s about connection. The kind you can’t fake. The kind that shows up in the in-between. How someone reaches for you, How you exhale when you feel safe, how a moment lands without anyone trying too hard.

When I photograph a wedding, I’m not there to control the day. I’m there to see it. To pay attention to what’s actually happening and preserve it in a way that feels like you. Less performance. More presence.

Because the photos that matter aren’t the ones that look perfect. They’re the ones that feel like you were really there. And honestly, that’s how I live too.

I’m either hosting people I love, finding new places to wander through, or chasing my kids around. But the best moments? They’re usually the simplest ones. At home. Comfortable. Connected.

That’s what I notice.
That’s what I care about.
And that’s what I photograph.
